Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced Rs 10 lakh each to the three gold medalists from the zonal railways in the Commonwealth Games.
"Railways is a lead partner of the Commonwealth Games and we will reward the three gold medalists drawn from different zonal railways in the CWG," Banerjee said at a railway programme here.
The Railways will also promote the trio, she said.
The railway employees who struck gold in the Commonwealth Games are Anisa Sayyeed (Western Wailways) in shooting, Ravinder Kumar and Sanjay Kumar (Northern Railway) in 60-kg and 74-kg Greco-Roman style of wrestling, respectively.
